External Affairs Chair

          Avril Sharp is a junior at UA. She double majors in Dance and Food/Nutrition and is from Nashville, Tennessee. She trained at DC Dance Factory in Brentwood, Tennessee where she trained in all styles including hiphop, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro, and more. She has worked and trained with many well known choreographers that have worked with Micheal Jackson , Janet Jackson , Laney Wilson, Justin Timberlake , and have been seen on So You Think You Can Dance and World of Dance. She has assisted and worked with a few dance conventions such as Revive Dance Convention, Adrenaline Dance Convention, and National Dance Honors working and connecting with well known dancer and choreographers in the industry. She has brought her passion and love for dance and choreographing to UA with her and continues to share it with others once her time at UA is over.

          At UA, she has performed in many shows such as ARDT, Emerging Choreographers’ Showcase,  Greater Giving , MFA Showcases, Dance Alabama Film Festival, Dance Alabama!, and #SICKMOVES!. She has also choreographed in Dance Alabama! , #SICKMOVES!, and Emerging Choreographers’ Showcase. 

          She has been a part of Dance Alabama ! Since freshman year and has performed in every show since . She is highly involved with dance jams, master classes, and extra seminars and activities Dance Alabama! offers. Her favorite part of Dance Alabama! is the lifetime friendships she has made and the countless memories that can not be forgotten! Dance Alabama! has brought her to find her best friends , her family , and her home. Dance Alabama! is such a special thing that could never be replaced. She firmly believes that DA! will ALWAYS BE THE PLACE!
