Kylie Blake is a dance major graduate from Morris County’s Academy of Performing Arts and is currently a Junior at the University of Alabama as a double major in dance and public relations. She previously trained in high school at the New Jersey School of Ballet and has also been in her high school’s musicals playing the roles of principal ensemble member as well as Dance Captain, and Assistant Choreographer. Kylie has had the honor of being awarded National Honorable Mention for the National Honors Society for Dance Arts Award and the New Jersey Governor’s Award in Arts Education.
Recently, Kylie has danced in department productions such as Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre and Emerging Choreographers Showcase as well as student-produced shows such as Dance Alabama!, Dance Alabama Film Festival (dance captain), and #SICKMOVES. She has also performed in personal projects like Black Arts Experience and Dystant. She has choreographed works for Dance Alabama! and #SICKMOVES entitled: Whiplash, Origin, Tales of Teenage Girl, and Speak, Easy. Kylie has also participated in multiple master classes with renowned artists like co-director Tracy Inman of Alvin Ailey, Eldar Aliev from Mariinsky Theatre in Russia, Christopher Stuart artistic director of Alabama Ballet, and many more. She also worked with choreographer Duane Lee Holland, Jr. in the Magnificent Seven Choreography Workshop. Kylie is a passionate, hard-working artist who continues to enjoy and persevere through her career in dance and choreography. |
