Lauren Beck is a senior at UA majoring in Communicative Disorders with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Lauren started dancing at the age of 3 and began receiving competitive training from her coaches at Dancetown Miami at 10 years old. She has trained extensively in ballet, latin ballroom, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and more.
Throughout her high school career, Lauren had many exciting performance opportunities with her studio. As a freshman, she performed with a ballroom group on NBC’s World of Dance season 3, and the following year, she performed with a large group from her studio on America’s Got Talent season 15. Due to her exposure on World of Dance, Lauren and her teammates were invited to perform in Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s Super Bowl LIV halftime show in 2020. She has also had the privilege of learning from Derek Hough, Neyo, Jennifer Lopez, Manny and Lory Castro, among many others throughout her commercial dance experience. Lauren has been a member of Dance Alabama! since her freshman year, and it has been one of the highlights of her college experience. Her favorite part of DA! is being able to share her love for ballroom through choreography and dance classes with her friends. She is honored to serve as Treasurer this year and is especially excited to play a role in producing #SICKMOVES. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue performing, creating, and collaborating within the organization. |
