Advocacy Chair

           Rena is a Senior at The University of Alabama, majoring in Food and Nutrition. She is from Houston, Texas, and has loved dance and the community it creates throughout her life. She began dancing during her freshman semester  year of high school and continued to grow her passion for dance throughout high school.

           After graduating, she joined the staff of Crowd Pleasers Dance, where she has continued to share her love of dance by spending her summers traveling throughout Texas and teaching school dance teams. Through Crowd Pleasers, she has the opportunity to work with dancers from different teams and help them grow as dancers and leaders. She joined Dance Alabama! during the spring semester of her freshman year at The University of Alabama and has loved being a part of the organization ever since.

            Throughout her time in DA!, she has had the opportunity to perform, make lasting memories, and build meaningful friendships with so many talented and inspiring dancers. One of her favorite parts of Dance Alabama! is the community and getting to be surrounded by people who share the same passion for dance. DA! has become such a special part of her college experience, and she is grateful for the people and experiences it has brought into her life.

           As a Food and Nutrition major, she hopes to pursue a career in sports dietetics, working with athletes to support their performance, health, and overall well-being. She is passionate about helping athletes understand the connection between nutrition and performance and hopes to make an impact in the world of sports nutrition. She is so excited to serve as Advocacy Chair this year and wants to help create the same sense of community that has made Dance Alabama! so special to her. She hopes to foster an environment where every member feels welcomed, valued, and connected, while making sure everyone knows that they have a place within DA!. She looks forward to advocating for DA! members, creating opportunities for connection, and helping make this year one to remember!
